She was predeceased by: her mother Ethel Mae Cross Alston; her grandparents, Agnes B. and James Cross; her brother Jeff Cross; her uncle Robert Cross; her in-laws, Christine and William Alford; and her sister-in-law P. Diane (Stanley Turner).
She is survived by: her husband Roderick Alexander Alford; her son Roderick Alexander Alford II; her siblings, Brenda Cross, Betty C. Ausby (David), Cheryl Cross, Gladys Cross, Carl "Mike" Cross (Elizabeth), Agnes Denise Schwartz (Scott), Vernon "Bird" Cross (Manisha), Tasha Alston, Nicole Alston and Malinda Alston; and her siblings-in-law, Oscar Dwayne Alford (Rhonda) and Beverly Alford Lucas (Mary Dickens). She is also survived by twenty-three nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
