Rachel Rodgers Slate Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rachel Rodgers Slate of Trinity, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 11, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Jimmy Rodgers, Clyde Rodgers, Thelma Burcham and Midge Nichols. She is survived by: her parents, James Hughes Rodgers and Melvina Bryant Rodgers; her husband Kenneth Rudolph Slate; her sister Nell Rodgers; her sons, Steve Slate (Ginny) and Todd Slate (Susan); her grandchildren, Jordan Slate (Abby), Sarah Canovai (Rodger) and Ashley Edwards (Caleb); and her great grandchildren, Roman Canovai, Ramsey Canovai, Morlie Edwards and Sutton Slate.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Thomasville Church of God (1200 W Holly Hill Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Thomasville Church of God or Hospice of the Piedmont.
