He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde Dewey Small and Betty Lou Spencer Small; and his brother Gary Small. He is survived by : his wife Janice Small; his son Robert Small of Asheboro; his stepchildren, Chris Baldwin of Trinity and Donette Ossler (James) of Alabama; and his grandchildren, Cody, Caleb and Cameron.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Wright Funerals-Cremations (10508 N Main St, Archdale, NC 27263). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
