He was predeceased by: his father Avery L. Josey; his wife Patricia Breashears Josey; his siblings, Jim Josey and Brenda Rodgers; his daughters, Karen Josey and Wendy Kay Josey; and his granddaughter Sarah Allen.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Absher; and his grandchildren, Tracy Lopez, Erin Vandyke, Justin Pierce, Denny Wilson, Daniel Wilson and Jennifer Gutierrez. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
