He was predeceased by : his parents, Raymond Lee Mullis and Matoka Ostwalt Mullis. He is survived by : his wife Ruth Hodge Mullis; and his sisters, Terri Crosby (David) of Statesville, Gilda Pryor (Ed) of Troutman and Amanda Weiser of Troutman.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital or to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
