He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sample Sr. and Lavinia Sample. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Sample; his daughters, Heather (Kim), Lisa (Philip), Melody (Mick), Melinda (Jill) and Amy (Rodney); his grandchildren, Austin, Griffin, Sophie, Carson, Jocelyn and Nick; his great grandchildren, Kasch, Fred, Maddox and Declan; and his brothers, Ronald and David.
The family requests memorial donations be made to First Health Hospice of Pinehurst for their compassionate care of Robert and the dignity they brought to his final days.
