She was predeceased by: her son Ryan Tennant; her parents, Francis Evans and Myrtle Evans; and her friend Sadie McKaig. She is survived by: her son Kyle McKenzie Tennant (Aimee) of Lexington, NC; her daughter-in-law Shannon Perry Tennant of Wilmington, NC; her sister Frankie Evans Locklair of Landrum, SC; her grandchildren, Dr. Kayla Marie Tennant of Chapel Hill, NC, Michael McKenzie Tennant of Lexington, NC and Perry Evans Tennant of Wilmington, NC.; her nieces, Karen Locklair and Tisha Moore of Fort Worth, Texas.; her friend Sherry Swett; and her spouse Georffrey McKenzie Tennant.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Tryon (125 Pacolet St, Tryon, NC 28782).

Alice was also President of the Turner-Tennant Foundation. The Foundation provides scholarships to students who graduate from Polk County High School.

“Alice Tennant was one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met. I’ve had the honor of knowing her since 2008 when I met her at her Son Ryan and my daughter Shannon’s Wedding. Every time I spoke to her I was touched by her caring and understanding demeanor. I feel honored to have known her and know she will be missed by anyone whose lives she has touched as I will.
