She was predeceased by: her parents, Chivis Odom and Rosie Blackwell Odom; her husband John Harle Nelon, Jr.; her children, Marlene Joy McDowell, Flint Darrell Nelon and Kevin Ronald Nelon; and her siblings, Mary Blanche Whitesides and Arnold Odom.
She is survived by: her sons, John Harle Nelon III (Becky) and Randy William Nelon (Chrissy); her daughters-in-law, Kim Nelon and Kelly Nelon; and her siblings, Rupert Odom, Russell Odom, Earl Odom, Dewey Odom and Earlene Harris. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.
