She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Weld Sterling and Marion Bridge Sterling; her spouse Colonel Thomas E. Murphree; and her siblings, Sterling, John Sterling, Sally Swanson and Helen Montgomery.
She is survived by: her sons, Theodore Murphree of Stafford, VA, Thomas Murphree III of Strasburg, VA and Timothy Murphree (Brandy) of Tryon, NC; her grandchildren, Jay Sterling Murphree (Katharine), Thomas Joel Murphree (Ruth) and Amy Lynn Murphree; her great grandchildren, Kylie Murphree Frank (Daniel), Karah Elizabeth Murphree and Thomas Jaxon Murphree; and her great great grandchildren, Knox Murphree Frank and Rowan Jane Frank.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the The Sanctuary (170 River Creek Ln, Swansboro, NC 28584).
