We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2025, at the age of 92, Jean Taurman Chesnutt of Tryon, North Carolina, born in Birmingham, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Jewel and Alice Jewel; and her husband Arthur "Pat" Buchanan Chesnutt, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Sally Barrett (Larry), Alice Kraebber (David) of Wilmington, NC and Kathryn Gillie (Craig) of Tryon, NC.; her grandsons, Jacob, Patrick Barrett (Annah), Sam, Angus Kraebber and Colin Gillie; her great grandchildren, Charlotte and Lainey Barrett; her son Lee Marvin McDowell; Louis.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church (150 Melrose Ave, Tryon, NC 28782). A reception will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at 21 Harwood Ln, Tryon, NC 28782.
