With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Lou Lester Baker of Tryon, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 8, 2026 at the age of 95. As we bid Patricia farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Patricia is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jewell Thomas Lester and Murray Oliver Lester; and her grandfather William H. Lester. She is survived by: her children, Joy T (Tryon), Murray Lester Baker, MD (late Virginia) of Blountstown, FL and Daryl Baker Nelms; her cousin Bobbie Lester; and her husband Lt. James McDowell Baker. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
