William touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Hursey and Ann Hursey; and his brother Richard "Dick" Hursey. He is survived by: his wife Susan "Susie" Moss Hursey; his daughter Jill Hicks (Jim); his granddaughter Sophie; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Bellamy (Martin), Jenny Renfroe (Andy), Cile Hursey and Joe Moss (Anna). He is also survived by nieces; nephews; numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Tryon, North Carolina or to the class of 1971 Endowed Scholarship Fund at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
