It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Toppin Kirby of Tyner, North Carolina, who passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nolan Bunch Toppin and Jennie Virginia Parker Toppin; her siblings, Lillie Mae Beaman, Hazel Spruill, Larry, Haurice, Maurice, Troy, Durwood, Guy, Wilford and Garland Toppin; and her grandsons, Dustin Ryan and William Roscoe Kirby.
She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Kirby Charles (Cameron) of Jacksonville, FL and Paul Kirby of Tyner; her brother Earl Toppin of Wilmington; and her grandchildren, Justin, Alyssa Kirby and Dylan Charles.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Beaver Hill Cemetery. A reception will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home & Crematory (735 Virginia Rd, Edenton, NC 27932).
