He was predeceased by: his parents, William Preston York and Bessie Reynolds York; his brother Edmond York; and his daughter Sandra York Gantt (Mark). He is survived by: his wife Irene; his son Michael York (Lisa); his grandsons, Jayden Gantt (Elizabeth), Jarrod Gantt (Jenny), Jacob M. Gantt (Haley), Jonathan York (Ashley) and Matthew York (Amy); and his great grandchildren, Dakota York, Connor Reed (Samantha), Wyatt Gantt, Wade Gantt, Colton Gantt, Emma Gantt, Millie Gantt and Jacob A. Gantt.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Union Grove United Methodist Church (1331 Sloans Mill Rd, Union Grove, NC 28689). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Union Grove United Methodist Men and Union Grove United Women of Faith in his memory.
