With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Gregory Poteat of Valdese, North Carolina, who passed away on December 2, 2022 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas William "Tom" Poteat and Doris Cannon Poteat; and his grandparents, David, Pauline Cooke of Shady Grove, Grady and Sue Poteat of Valdese.
He is survived by : his sisters, Susan Poteat McGee (David Mike) of Valdese and Deanna Dula-Moore (Bobby) of Conover; his niece Britainy McGee Rash (Michael); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Meredith and Maverick of Valdese; his stepmother Becky Maness Poteat of Valdese; his stepsiblings, Lane Crouse (Allison) of Hickory and Amanda Crouse Burns (Josh); and also, Hampton and Brenlee of Burleson, Texas. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Mountain Children's Home of Burke County, the American Cancer Society, or Bethel Colony of Mercy in Lenoir.
