He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Canipe Jr. and Dorothy Eva Parker Canipe; his sister Maisie Wallace (William); his brothers-in-law, Gene Houser and Carroll Craig; and his niece Lorina Huffman.
He is survived by: his sisters, Winona Houser of Vale, Gail Stiles of Lincolnton and Donna Norman (Arnold) of Vale.
