In loving memory of Katherine Burton of Vale, North Carolina, who departed this world on December 10, 2025 at the age of 74. Katherine leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Roy Willis and Inez Marie Willis; her former husband Gary "Bud" Abernathy; her son Chris Abernathy; and her siblings, Peggy Petrea, Linda May and Eddie Willis.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald L. Burton; her children, Melissa Webb of Lincolnton and Randy Abernathy (Summer) of Lincolnton; her grandchildren, Logan Webb, Ashley Webb and Nate Lykins; her siblings, Carolyn Turner of Lincolnton and Larry Willis of Vale; and her pet Annie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the Hull's Grove Baptist Church (6670 NC-27, Vale, NC 28168). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
