In the vast expanse of eternity, Larry shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Larry farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred A. Gilbert and Madeline Johnson Gilbert; his wife Gail Laws Gilbert; and his brother-in-law Keith Rhoney. He is survived by: his children, Todd Gilbert (Kristie) of Vale and Katrina Gilbert (Aaron) of Lincolnton; his sister Freida Rhoney of Vale; his grandsons, Austin Gilbert (Makayla) and Garret Mauney; and his great grandchild Jovie Mae Gilbert.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery (2700 Trinity Church Rd, Vale, NC 28168).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Word of Life Lutheran Church, Building Fund, PO Box 75, Vale, NC 28168.
