He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Rush Towery and Hansel Louise Latham Towery; his brother John Towery; his nephew Douglas Towery; his great-nephew Anthony Wright; and his great-niece Christine Towery.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Sue Towery; his daughters, Angie Towery (Chris), Tammy Shaver (Curtis), Crystal Scott (Tim) and Ashley Towery (Ricky); his sisters, Emma Jean Braddy (Rick) and Barbara Travis; his grandchildren, Marissa Scott, Rebekah Scott, Chelsey Scott, Aaron Scott, Eric Scott and Daniel Scott; his great grandchildren, Christopher Sigmon, Julius Sigmon, Blake Scott, James Scott, Deliah Scott and Allison Scott; and his siblings' children, Belinda Guin, Stephanie Longfellow, Tina Travis, Lonnie Shook, Jr. and Darrell Shook. He is also survived by Ten Great nieces and nephews; one great great nephews and one great great niece.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Burke Mortuary Chapel (2516 N Main Ave, Newton, NC 28658). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
