It is with sadness that the passing of Zelma Marie (Warlick) Smith of Vale, North Carolina is shared. Zelma, born on July 7, 1932, passed away on September 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Zelma will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Zelma by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Zelma is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Zelma’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jene Watson Warlick and Beulah Lynn Seagle Warlick; her husband Hugh Ward Smith; her son Donald Eugene Smith; and her siblings, Helen Warlick Smith and Ralph Warlick.
She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia "Pat" Smith Weaver (Steve) of Vale and Nancy Smith Icard of Newton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at the Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church (4352 Macedonia Church Rd, Vale, NC 28168). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at the same location.
