William Welch Obituary

We announce the death of William Welch of Valle Crucis, North Carolina, who passed away on June 25, 2026, at the age of 86. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bynum Estes and Annie Ruth Welch (Smith); his grandson Will Francey; his former wife Marilyn Welch; his sister Anne Welch Culler (Dewey); his nephews, Kenneth Evans and Ted Welch; and his niece Tammy Wolfe.

He is survived by: his brothers, Louis Welch (Evelyn) and Ernest Welch; his stepchildren, Robert Francey (Sheri) and Rebecca Francey (Johnny); his stepgrandchildren, Zac Francey and Danielle Walker; and his nieces and nephews, Laurie Perkins, Kim Evans (Jessica), Jordan Brown and Katie Perkins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amorem Hospice, whose care and compassion brought comfort to Bill in his last days.
