It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Belva Jackson Sutton Davenport of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Joe J. Sutton; her parents, Hubert Jackson and Verna Jackson; her sisters, Hazel Stox and Merline Morgan; and her stepson James Ray Davenport.
She is survived by: her husband James E. Davenport; her children, James R. "Ronnie" Sutton (Linnette) of Simpson and Sandra Paramore (Allen) of Farmville; her grandson Kendall Paramore (Marsha) of Ayden; her great grandchild Addie Paramore; her stepgranddaughter Tiffany Mosley (Justin) of Greenville; her children, Caden and Levi Mosley; her sister Barbara Franks of Grifton; and her stepchildren, Joyce Davenport of Wilmar and Rusty Davenport (Donna) of Hillsborough. She is also survived by 7 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
