She was predeceased by : her parents, Seaton "Poe" Fairless and Josie Harrell Fairless; her brother Seaton P. Fairless, Jr.; and her aunt Margie Rhea Minton. She is survived by : her caregiver Oscar; her daughters, Amy Powell (George) and Cindy Asbell (Wesley); her grandchildren, Trent Powell and Caroline Asbell; her sister Annette Wood; her cousin Linda Gillam Clark; and also Kim Kuhn.

Brenda was also on the Hospital Foundation Board and the Steering Committee to raise money for the Children's Hospital.
