He was predeceased by: his daughter Claudia Sue Wilson; his parents, Lawrence Thomas and Mable Louise Carrow Wilson; and his siblings, Betty Gladson, Joyce Toler and Roger Wilson.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Butts Wilson; his sons, William Wade Wilson (Lori) of Benson, NC and John Lawrence Wilson (Stephanie) of Vanceboro; his grandchildren, Timothy Wilson (Karah), Sara W. McPherson (Ian), Melissa Wilson, Michelle Smith, Joshua Wlison (Tamber) and Matthew Wilson; his great grandchildren, Bailee Moody (Wade Moody) and Drew Wilson; and his grandchildren, Aidan, Rachel McPherson, Maddox, Kendall Baxter, Camden and Noah Wilson.
