She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry Ward and Martha Marshburn Ward; her grandchild Xzavius Smith; and her sister Nancy Ward. She is survived by: her daughters, Corina Black-Jury (David) of Greenville, NC, Tanya Black (Brian Culbertson) of Greenville, NC and Marlena Black of Greenville, NC; her grandchildren, Jedidiah Black, Jace Pollard, Gavin Lee Culbertson, Liam Jury and Sophia Jury; and her siblings, Cathy Ward (Harold Dowdy), David Ward (Theda) of Sanford and James Ward (April) of Sanford.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home & Crematory - Greenville (2100 E 5th St, Greenville, NC 27858). A reception was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
