It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Gray Conway Simpson of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Jefferson J. Conway (Lena Salter Conway); her husband Everett C. Simpson; her mother Lena Conway; her brothers, Harold, Haywood and Theodore Conway; and her children, Robin Simpson and Kimberly Simpson Hall (Gary S. Hall).
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Marshall Craig Simpson (Wanda) of Goldsboro, Sandra S. Jackson (Lloyd) of Ayden and Dr. Jeffrey N. Simpson (Kim Shinn) of Durham; her grandchildren, Rebecca Shrader (Josh) of Durham, Hunter Jackson (Katie) of Verona, VA, Josh Hall (Michelle) of Winterville, Olivia Simpson of Winston-Salem, Taylor Jackson of Ayden, Katie Ashby (John) of Winterville, Austin Simpson of Jacksonville, Julia S. Meister (Daniel) and Rachel Simpson of Virginia Beach, VA; and her great grandchildren, Aben, Lydia Shrader, Carter, Payton Hall, Ada, Quinn Jackson, Joseph and Audrey Meister.
