It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Essie Blalock of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Essie Blalock to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jimmie Lee and Mary Harrison Lee; her husband George Blalock; her daughter Wanda Kay Rawls; her granddaughter Wanda Ann Rawls; and her siblings, Patricia Griffin, Carlies Lee and Lonnie Lee.
She is survived by: her sons, Tony Rawls (Donna) and James Rawls (Ann); her grandsons, Andy Rawls and James Rawls, Jr.; her siblings, Margaret Brown, Ray Lee (Hess), Donnie Lee (Sheila), Roy Lee (Joyce), David Lee (Lynn), Bennett Lee, Jerry Lee, Benjamin Lee, Paul Lee (Sheila) and Frank Lee (Charlene); and her siblings-in-law, Victor Griffin, Faye Lee and Connie Lee. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Community Christian Church (22184 NC-125, Williamston, NC 27892). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Robersonville Cemetery (9005 US-64 ALT, Williamston, NC 27871).
