With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene McLawhorn Tripp of Vanceboro, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2026 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Lee Tripp; her son Robert Horace Tripp; her father Marvin Horace McLawhorn (Lela Stanley); and her siblings, Mary Rose Buck and Ralph McLawhorn.

She is survived by: her son Steve Tripp (Susan); her grandchildren, Amy Tripp, Rob Tripp (Heather) and Anna Smith (Chris); her great grandchild Asha; and her caregiver Autumn Hoffman.
