It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Albert Willis of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Letitia H. Willis; and his parents, Ernest Willis and Grace Willis. He is survived by: his daughter Lisa W. Heath (Brian); his grandsons, Zachary T. Heath (Makala) and Nathan J. Heath; his great grandchildren, Elijah and Elliott; his sisters, Myrtle Register (Gene) of Chocowinity, Ann Wiggins of Chocowinity and LaRue Sox (Tommy) of Burlington; and his in-laws, Debbie Adams (Kenneth), Hope Smith, Marian Hardee and Redden Jones. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home & Crematory - Greenville (2100 E 5th St, Greenville, NC 27858). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
