He is survived by: his wife Shirley Smith Evans; his son James Edward Evans of Vanceboro; his siblings, Walter Evans of Vanceboro, Mildred McLawhorn of Vanceboro and Dorothy Coward of Ayden, NC; and his grandchildren, Isaac Evans of Vanceboro and Emily Evans Jenkins (Brad) of Vanceboro.
