It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Parker Whitehurst of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Robert "Jack" Parker and Beulah Shirley Parker; and her husband Joseph P. "Pat" Whitehurst. She is survived by: her daughters, Jan Whitehurst Doss of Holly Springs, Angie Whitehurst Pearce (Ashley) of Wake Forest and Lynn Whitehurst Ferebee (Jett) of Falkland; her grandchildren, Stephanie Doss Nall (Zach), Jennifer Leigh Doss, Chloe Alexandra Pearce, Mikaela Paige Pearce, John Jethro Ferebee, III, Parker Ferebee Batchelor (Austin), Mary Patrick Ferebee and Joseph Scott Ferebee; and her great grandchildren, Samuel Patrick Nall, Claire Elise Nall and Joseph Henry Batchelor.
