It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Maxwell Hill of Vanceboro, North Carolina, who passed away on September 6, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hill and Sarah Hill; his sister Jo Ann Hill Edmunds; and his brother-in-law William Carrington Edmunds. He is survived by: his wife Myra Hodges Hill; his children, Hannah Hodges Hill, Tyler Hill Ford (Vaughn) and John Grainger Hill (Anabel); his grandsons, Henry Hodges and John Charles Tubaugh; his children, Gray, Maxwell Young and Myra-Maxwell Hill; William Carrington Jr., Sarah Hillary and Coleman Marks Edmunds. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
