We bid farewell to Kathryn (Kay) Smith Swope of Vanceboro, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 22, 2026 at the age of 78. Kathryn touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Ransom Smith and Ruth Hughes Smith of Wilson. She is survived by: her husband John Swope; her daughters, Dawn Swope Hopper (Trevor) and Mary Kathryn Swope; and her grandchildren, Meghan Hopper, Ethan Hopper, Zachary Jones and John Jones.
