We announce the death of Freddie Wolfe of Vilas, North Carolina, who passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 67. Freddie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnet Wolfe and Roena Widner Wolfe; his sister Lois Greer; and his mother-in-law Emogene Brown. He is survived by: his significant other Kathy Brown-Wolfe; his daughters, Jessica (Brent Neaves) of Vilas, Jennifer Wolfe of Hickory and Cassandra Wolfe-Dancy of Vilas; his grandchildren, Austin of Vilas, Olivia of Vilas, Owen of Vilas, Avery of Vilas, Emily of Vilas, Hannah Neaves of Vilas, Abigail Walker of Hickory and Emma Dancy of Vilas; his siblings, Ann Townsend (James Mahala), Cathy Wilson of Purlear, Judy (Jimmy Milam), Terry (Debra Wolfe) and Gary Wolfe of Valle Crucis; his father-in-law Gene Brown; and his sister-in-law Mary Brown of Vilas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Austin and Barnes Chapel (194 Queen St, Boone, NC 28607). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at the Old Adams Cemetery (332 Adams Cemetary Rd, Vilas, NC 28692).
