She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Bunn Phillips and Sally Ann Gilmore Phillips; her husband Lonnie "Shine" James; her son Todd Vaughn; and her siblings, Clayton Phillips, Nell Bailey, John Phillips, Ruby Preslar, Pete Hinson, Hallie Tarlton, Earl Gene Phillips, Peggy Phillips, Bill Phillips and Callie Mae Carpenter.
She is survived by: her close friend Ebbie Poplin of Wadesboro; her children, Kathy Mims (Frank) of Wadesboro, Gary Vaughn of Wadesboro and Mark Vaughn of Wadesboro; her grandchildren, Travis Elrod (Rachel) of Aberdeen, Brianna Vaughn of Midland, Franklin Mims, Jr. (Jessica) of Ellerbe and Jeremy Mims (Kristi) of Lilesville; her great grandchildren, Luna Elrod, James Mims, Halee Mims, Lilly Mims and Natalie Mims; and her sister Margie Sharpe of Statesville. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
