He is survived by: his wife Rita Dawkins Cornwell; his daughters, Berry Thomas (Greg) of Lilesville and Kelly Howell (Scott) of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Heith Ricketts (Carly) of Wadesboro, Riley Eudy (Kyle) of Peachland, Kerry Helms (Wesley) of Chesterfield, SC, Jacob Thomas of Lilesville, Garrett Thomas of Lilesville, Jamie Thomas of Lilesville and Josh Thomas of Lilesville; his great grandchildren, Vann Eudy, Grey Eudy, Hank Ricketts, Harper Helms, Kensley Helms and Charley Helms; his sister Linda Smith of Wadesboro; and his sister-in-law Geneva Lowry of Wadesboro.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home (2036 Morven Rd, Wadesboro, NC 28170). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at the Anson Memorial Park (2207 NC-742, Wadesboro, NC 28170).
