He was predeceased by: his parents, Maynard Flake and Margaret Ratliff Flake. He is survived by: his sister Joyce; his brother-in-law Jack Thies of Sneads Ferry; his niece Jodi Black (Clint); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Trinity Juliette Black of Conover and Bethany Elaine Black of Conover; his nieces, Jennifer Lee Thies (Alan Smith) of Arvonia, VA and Jinger Guerrette (Josh); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Zoe Veronique Guerrette of Chapel Hill and Ivy Matilda Guerrette of Chapel Hill.
