He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gaston Dutton and Lelia Julania Cass Dutton; his wife Margaret Henry Dutton; and his son Dwight Dutton. He is survived by: his daughter Maresa Dutton Phillips (Phil Lowder) of Wadesboro; his daughter-in-law Carol Mangum Dutton of Sunset Beach; his grandchildren, Courtney Watts (Austin Morton) of Wadesboro, Tilden Phillips (Korin Barker) of Denver and Kristine Dutton of Raleigh; and his great grandchildren, Kamryn Winfield, Zoe Mangum and Levi Reese Morton. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and their families and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home (2036 Morven Rd, Wadesboro, NC 28170). A burial was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church (3373 Country Club Rd, Wadesboro, NC 28170).
