Sara Poplin Lear Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sara Poplin Lear of Wadesboro, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 12, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sara Poplin Lear to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Graham Poplin and Tincey Lougenia Ratliff Poplin; her husband Howard Lear; her son Charles Lear; her granddaughter Marybeth Lear; and her brothers, Robert Poplin, Wade Poplin, Charlie Poplin, Coolidge Poplin and Oner G. Poplin.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Lear (Pat) of Norwood, Sandra Horne (Jimmie) of Peachland and Steve Lear (Susan) of Wadesboro; and her grandchildren, Robbie Lear (Heather) of Polkton, Brian Lear (Hanna) of Albemarle, Wendy Dagenhart (Mark) of Peachland, Jeff Horne (Denise) of Peachland, Jennifer Tice of Wadesboro, Jamie Lear of Wadesboro, Jill Lear of Wadesboro, Joey Lear of Wadesboro, Brandon Lear of Wadesboro and Tim Goodwin of Hamlet. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lilesville Baptist Church (118 Camden St, Lilesville, NC 28091). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
