He is survived by: his stepmother Lois Short-Cox of Wadesboro; his siblings, Laurie Cox Lynch of Henrico, VA and Matthew A. Cox of Huntsville, AL; his sister-in-law Laura M. Cox of South Bend, IN; and his close friend Brian Wheeler (Teresa) of Elizabeth City. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.
