He is survived by: his wife Betty Ross Brooks; his children, Kevin Brooks (Carol) of Denver, Kate Alderson (Mike) and Amy Triplett (Bill) of Murrell's Inlet; his grandchildren, Blaire Johnson (Hunter) of Indian Land, SC, Spenser Spring (AJ) of Charlotte, Summer Powell (Allen) and Rebekah Bennett of Charlotte; his great grandchildren, Camden Spring, Lane Spring, Hayes Powell and Griffin Spring; his sister Katherine Long of Monroe; and his sister-in-law Linda Horne of Charlotte. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
