He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gramza and Mary Lukaszewski Gramza. He is survived by: his wife Marianne Spiner Gramza; his daughter Tammy Scarborough (Scott) of Wake Forest; his granddaughter Samantha Scarborough of Wake Forest; and his sister Rita Jasinski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
His academic excellence was recognized early as a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow (1962–1963) and as a University of Wisconsin.
