He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Alexander Nance and Mary Elizabeth Nance; his wife Shirley Massey Nance; his son Anthony Nance; and his siblings, Bill Nance and Judy Nance.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Nance (Cindy) of Wake Forest and Karen Powell (Stuart) of Wake Forest; his brother Robert Nance of Garner, NC.; his grandchildren, Grayson Nance, Christian Nance, Brandon Nance, Abby Nance, Sarah Armstrong (Matt) and Graham Powell; and his great grandchildren, Ellie Armstrong, Ethan Armstrong and Aubrey Rose Taylor.
