He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Penate Zelada and Gregoria Mendez Tejada; and his brother Benjamin Penate. He is survived by: his daughter Yesenia Aguirre; his son-in-law Juan AguirreRobles; his son Edward Penate; his grandchildren, Evelyn Aguirre, Matthew Aguirre, Jacqueline Aguirre, Daniella Aguirre and Cyrus Penate; and his siblings, Jose Luis Mendez, Dolores Ibarra, Carmen Ibarra, Maria Isabel Penate and Dora Alicia Moreno.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bright Funeral Home (405 S Main St, Wake Forest, NC 27587). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church (520 W Holding Ave, Wake Forest, NC 27587).
