He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer Edwin Cole and Dorothy Elizabeth Reaves Cole; and his sister Cecilia Jane O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Joanna Cunningham Cole of Raleigh, NC; his children, Christopher Sean Cole of Youngsville, NC and Shannon Heather Henderson of Clayton, NC; and his sister Maeve Steele. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
