He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Alford Lowery and Clara Bessie Rogers Lowery; and his sisters, Claire Alford and Carolyn Allen. He is survived by: his wife Billie Choplin Lowery; his children, Miriam Lowery Poole of Wake Forest and Clay Burton Lowery (Michelle) of Black Mountain; his grandchildren, Kirstyn Lynn Alford (Cameron), Hailey Poole Norris (Seth) and Tucker Lowery; his great grandchildren, Keely, Christian, Grayson, Ashton, Lela and Ryn (Kathryn); and his sisters, Louise Choplin of Wake Forest and Alice Faye Ray of Wake Forest.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Wake Forest Baptist Church (107 E S Ave, Wake Forest, NC 27587).
