He was predeceased by: his mother Judy Speight Gardner; and his brother Anthony Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Gupton Gardner; his children, Jeffrey Scott Gardner, Jr. (Lauren) of Louisburg, Hannah Gardner of Wake Forest and Chandler Gardner (Amanda) of Wake Forest; his grandchildren, Wesson and J. D. Gardner of Louisburg; his father James Wesley Gardner (Helen) of Wilson; and his brothers, Chris Gardner (Christine) of Southern Shores, Michael Fields of Greensboro and David Proctor of Wilson. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
