He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Leroy Gonnella and Grace Volpe Gonnella; his wife Dorothy Margaret McQuaid; his daughter Jean Volpe Gonnella; his grandson Graham Patrick Johnson; and his siblings, Robert Henry Gonnella, George Leroy Gonnella, Anthony John Gonnella and Virginia Miraglia.
He is survived by: his children, Leroy Gonnella Jr. (Holly) of Phoenix, Oregon and Elizabeth Grace Johnson (Robert) of Franklinton; his granddaughters, Liz Johnson of Charlotte and Janna Stephen (Gabriel) of Raleigh; and his sister Ann Powers of Lynnfield, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Foundation.
