With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lonnie James Hicks Jr. (Wake Forest, North Carolina), who passed away on June 18, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie James Hicks, Sr. and Lois Carter Hicks; and his siblings, Yvonne Clark, Lena Mae Driver and Everette Hicks.
He is survived by: his daughter Shilda Branson; his grandson Justin Winstead (Melanie); his great grandchildren, Chandler, Nate and Harper Winstead; and his sisters, Lois Faye Pearce and Abby Daniel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Montlawn Memorial Park (2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603).
In Lieu of flowers any memorial contributions may be made to Transitions Lifecare Hospice, (250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607).
