With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ned L. Mathews (Wake Forest, North Carolina), born in Tarboro, North Carolina, who passed away on October 16, 2021 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ned L. Mathews to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Mathews and Sallie Mathews; and his siblings, Johnny Mathews, Jane Ross and Carol Kelvington.

He is survived by: his wife Shelby Davis Mathews; his daughters, Alisa Bentley (Kevin) of Raleigh and Melinda Dilworth (Ron) of Gastonia; his grandchildren, Allison Creagh (Jimmy), Mark Bentley (Jamie), Luke Bentley (Madi), Matthew Robinson (Danna), Cole Dilworth and Trent Dilworth; and his great grandchildren, LIly, Paxton, Elle Rose and Sophia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Ned Mathews Scholarship Fund Parkwood Baptist Church, 1827 Dixon Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.
